We have just completed our second semester of Khmer language at the Royal University of Phnom Penh. Our class had 19 students ,with 9 from Korea ,2 from japan,3 from Thailand, 2 from U.K.,1 from Philippines ,and 2 from the U.S.(that is us). Not only were we learning Khmer Language, but also Cambodian culture as well.

We will continue to study Khmer at the OMF center with language tutors. We have put most of our learning into reading and writing . Speaking is another story. It is definitely more difficult to actually talk to a person than, to engage a book.Especially when Khmer is spoken a little bit  different from the written Khmer. But we are plodding along in our studies.
